The uncertain future of ABS-CBN will not only affect 11,000 employees but also the overall welfare it brings to the citizen of this country. Thinking beyond legalities, the renewal of franchise must continue to operate its mission of serving the Filipino people.
ABC-CBN Corporation encounters difficulty in renewing their franchise due to the government dismiss it because the TV Network is said to be accountable for its perceived violation in legal and in political side. It involves a process that requires the vote of legislators in determining the certain future of the company. Despite of the violations that are still in the verdict of the House of Representatives. ABS-CBN as one of the country’s leading information and entertainment media conglomerate have greatly contributed in the Philippine nation today.
The 25 years of ABS-CBN brought flourish to the overall welfare of the Philippine society and economy not just in the field of media and communication but it went all through its mission of serving the Filipino people in different aspects of life.
ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya extents its purpose in building non-government organization such as: Bantay Bata 163 launched in 1997, The child welfare arm provides medical assistance, feeding programs, educational scholarships, and community outreach. When natural calamities occur surely the Sagip Kapamilya takes humanitarian assistance to those who are in need of shelter, food, non-relief goods, engaging in rehabilitation and disaster risk reduction projects. In addressing concerns about environmental issues, Sagip Kalikasan imposes in the minds and hearts of Filipinos that taking care of the environment is the path to quality of life.
ABS-CBN have brought something bigger than their accusations. Let them serve their mission.
