Life under lockdown is not only changing how people live but it also lessens the crime rate of the country in half due to Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). The Philippine National Police (PNP) recorded a total number of crime to be 5,093 cases by February 11 to March 16.
Local Government Unit (LGU) controls the movement of the People especially during ECQ. Many Checkpoints are spread all throughout different cities and provinces. Resulting to criminals being less likely to get involve, or to even commit a crime.
The crime rate decrease started when police and soldiers alike patrol every night to strictly implement different curfew policies based from every barangays and municipalities. However, there is a general policy that allows one person per household permitted to go outside for buying necessities which is called Quarantine Passes.
In addition, the Quarantine Pass is only allowed to be used strictly for necessary movements such as buying daily supplies, medicine, garbage disposal and other essential activities. A curfew is also implemented to restrict the publics movement in order to prevent the further transmission of the virus.
